The WKU Softball Field was part of a $1.2 million development to create one of the finest softball facilities in the conference and the region. The softball project, which begin in 1999 and was completed in just six months, involved laying the playing surface, the construction of both dugouts and a backstop, the outfield fence, bullpens and batting cages. A full-service scoreboard was added in right field in March, 2000.
